"Chestnuts, get your chestnuts here! They are hot and good!" - tradicional portuguese quote.
That phrase that we love to hear on the streets in the autumn. The phrase and the warm smell that attracts all the people.
It is the moment when we run to the cart of chestnut sellers, ask for a dozen of chestnuts and they also serve us a portion of warmth - these are some of the last months of the year.

Sardine chestnuts, get your chestnuts here!:  have you tried yours?

Inspired by the typical carts of chestnut sellers who, from the start of October occupy the country's streets, it spreads its special aroma. On 11 November, blessed by the summer sun of Saint Martin, this Saint's day is celebrated with chestnuts soaked in jeropiga (a type of sweet wine) and piquette.

The sardines are made with high quality colors and decals, which allows them to have a very strong, intense and beautifull glow and color.
All the decorating process in each sardine is manual. The decoration is performed by decal process, which takes on average 10 minutes, producing only a few per day.

Each Bordallian sardine is wrapped in a original packaging to simulate a sheet of newspaper, in a throwback to the tradition of the sale of this fish in Lisbon, dating back to the XVIII century, between typical selling sayings, from the fishmongers.
